What’s Not Being Said™

The Hidden Realities of Leadership

A PWOCN Leadership Conversation for Women of Color

Leadership conversations often focus on advancement, visibility, strategy, and performance.

Far less attention is given to the realities many women leaders quietly navigate:

  • pressure and decision fatigue

  • emotional labor and overperformance

  • visibility, credibility, and belonging

  • sustaining leadership in increasingly complex environments

Research continues to show growing levels of burnout, stress, and organizational pressure. Yet many workplace systems and leadership expectations were not designed with the lived realities of women — especially women of color and Black women — in mind.

Over time, the pressure to maintain constant productivity, emotional regulation, and repeatedly prove legitimacy carries a real human cost.

This interactive lunch-hour conversation invites women of color leaders into reflection, dialogue, and connection around the realities of leadership that often remain unspoken.

Participants will explore:

  • how pressure shapes leadership and decision-making

  • the emotional dimensions of leadership

  • sustainable approaches to leadership moving forward

  • why more women leaders are craving honest conversations about what leadership now requires
